In this tutorial you will learn how to migrate your UniFi Controller 7.0 to a new UniFi Controller. We are going to use the export site function for the migration. This is the simplest way to migrate your UniFi settings to a new UniFi Controller.

Task Details

1. Log into Your UniFi Controller.
2. Create A Backup Of Your UniFi Controller Settings.
3. Export Site From The Existing UniFi Controller.
4. Import Site Into The New Unifi Controller.

Task 1: Log Into your UniFi Controller

1. Open a browser tab and direct yourself to your UniFi Controller
2. Sign in with your local username and password or your Ubiquiti Account.
3. Select your Unifi Controller.

Task 2: Create A Backup Of Your UniFi Controller Settings

1. Click Settings 

2. Click System

3. Locate Backup and click Download.

Task 3: Export Site From The Existing UniFi Controller

1. Click Settings 

2. Click System

3. Locate Legacy Interface and click Enable.

4. Click the Deactivate button.

5. Now you should be taken back to the dashboard and from here you will want to click Settings.

6. On the Sites page scroll down to the very bottom, click the Export Site button.

7. From this Export Site Wizard you will be prompted to download a new backup, click Download backup file.

8. Click the Confirm button once download of backup is complete.

9. Under Migrate devices you will need to enter Inform address for the new UniFi Controller.

10. Now click the Migrate devices button.

11. You will now see that your devices are set to migrating. Check your New UniFi Controller and make sure they are showing up. Once you confirm they are transferred click the Forget devices button. 

Task 4: Import Site Settings To New UniFi Controller

1. Click Settings 

2. Click System

3. Locate Backup and click Import. Browse to the file you downloaded and click open.

4. Wait for the magic to happen and you’re finished.
