Many people have encountered an issue with Windows 7 and 8 that a users profile will be logged into a temporary profile. At times a user would think that they lost all their data that they have been working with, not to worry there was a slight glitch with your profile and that’s why you were logged into a temporary profile. Follow the guide to recover your original profile within Windows 7 and 8.
Step 1: Go ahead and log into the computer. Then click the start menu. Within the start menu type regedit on search bar and hit enter. Navigate to the following string ‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList’. You will find the keys in similarity under the profile list having .bak in difference.
Step 2: The original profile is marked with .bak, by renaming it with new profile key (the one not having the .bak) and excluding the .bak from the correct profile key. After doing this close the Registry Editor and restart the system for making the issue to get fixed.
